Stress free calving line and calf taxi in China

Stress free calving line and calf taxi in China

Have a look at this Chinese farm. They have 30-120 cows calving per day here!

First, here we see their stress free calving line. Some details: they have someone observing the cows and when he notices a cow in labour, he puts the cow on the straw. We see they have a very clean strawyard.

Second, the calf taxi. Two men come in with the cow taxi. They take the calf and, normally, the mother follows automatically and goes to the milking area.

Please let us know what you think!

A stress free calving line is one of the key factors of a succesful farm. Want to know about other factors? Check our CowSignals Coffee Break.

How long do the calves stay with the mothers, and do they have a chance to take colostrum from their mothers?

Dr Subhash KUmar

it is highly informative and encouraging step to impart practices to small farmers remotely located and having little knowledge

Not at all... Big improvement point!
Many large farms give pooled collostrum... Not good.
We promote a half hour licking time and milk the cow while she is licking her baby: use the power of nature!!
