Another example of a stress free calving line

Stress free calving area in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Have a look at the cows, the steps and the ventilation. Stress free calving is very important to prevent diseases.

Let us know how you do it!

We are beef and sheep so we do it a bit differently

All of our cattle are left outside and calve in the fields

We patrol them on a regular basis during the calving season - approximately every two hours

With a 5 acre field for calving, they do it themselves however we have a pen, chute and squeeze within a 2 minute walk to assist if it is required.

By calving in their own territory it makes it easy for them and us.

Thanks for sharing, great example!
