CowSignals ® training prices
CowSignals® is a very practical approach to improve dairy farming.
Prevent disease and tunnel vision (owneritis, company blindness)
We learn farmers and advisors to look better and see more. We also learn them to smell, listen, feel and think. Cows always speak the truth, you just have to learn to read their body language.
A power point presentation with over 100 pictures and movies from farms out of 25 countries are a unique way of learning more about cows.
Our customers of lectures and day trainings are surprised about the effect.
CowSignals® is the key to healthy cows, good production and welfare.
CowSignals® is developed by Vetvice, happy cows, happy farmers.
The CowSignals® diamond: 6 freedoms of the pasture
Every cow and calf has several basic needs.
These are the aims and checkpoints in daily care taking and housing.
Check all the 6 freedoms of the pasture in a daily routine. Look, think and act. Try to bring as much of the 6 freedoms of the pasture in your barn as possible. Then your cows will stay healthy.

The 6 freedoms of the cubicle (cows resting place)
Feed:
Every animal has always unlimited access to tasty feed of the right content.
Water:
Every animal has always unlimited access to tasty clean water of the right content
Light:
Every animal experience a day-night rythem. The night should last a minimum of 6 hours. For maximum feed intake, activity and heat it is 150 lux everywere in the barn.
Air:
Every animal breaths always fresh air with the right content. There is enough dry, fresh air to cool down. I don’t see fresh-air-seeking-behaviour.
Rest:
Every animal has a comfortable resting place. The ranking order is stable and there are hardly ranking fights. The people and the housing stimulates rest and peace.
Space:
The suroundings supply sufficient space. Every animal can walk around without fear and social disturbance. Floors and constructions don’t interfere with free cow traffic.
Health:
Health is the result of the above 6 freedoms. Health is also a basic need. Animals do not suffer lameness or wounds or other disease. Housing, feeding and care taking prevent the spread of infectious diseases and the development of diseases. (hygiene, vaccination etc.)
“Joep Driessen is a Dutch vet who chose Dorset to kick off a UK-wide tour promoting a book called “Cow Signals” wherein farmers are taught not just to watch their cows but to observe them making both the farmer’s and the cow’s life a lot healthier and productive. Geoff Pagotto talks to Joep to find out more.
If you have read this book or any other books on agricultural subjects and would like to record a review for Farm Radio, please get in touch. We would be very pleased to hear from you.”
